Lions Take Big Win Over Smith Academy On Chappell Recognition Night

Lions battled last night against Smith Academy in a home game pulling out the win 87-31. The Liberty junior varsity and varsity teams both won last night. All of the players got some minutes in the varsity game last night. Lions had a good feeling they were going to pull through with the win after the first half, scoring 50 points and holding Smith Academy to 13. It was a good night for Christian Nunn, finishing the game with 28 points. Xavier White was varsity’s second-leading scorer with 9 points. Landan McCord had 6 rebounds and 8 points and Adonis House also scored 8. Zion Cook added 6 assists and 3 steals also.

It was a good night for Coach Jason Chappell also, as he received his 201st win as head coach after being recognized before the game. Lions are now 12-9 for the season and 3-2 for the conference. The boys are back in action Friday night for the last game in The Den this season. This will also be senior night for all winter sports. The JV game will begin at 6 with Senior Night activities between the games. Varsity will play after. Come out for the last home game this season. Go Lions!
