Lions Defeat Panthers in Second Round of County Tourney

Lions had a difficult battle last night against the Elwood Panthers but were tough enough to pull through with the win. Lions struggled towards the beginning of the game last night. After the first quarter, the Lions were down 13-20. After a couple of minutes into the second quarter, the Lions subbed out all of the starters until the end of the half. Both teams played good defense in the 2nd, allowing only a combined 11 points. At the half, the score was 19-25 in favor of Elwood. After halftime, Lions starters were back in and ready to go, again playing good D holding the Panthers to 4 points and scoring 28 of their own in the third making the score 47-29. Lions finished strong in the fourth will a final score of 63-42.

Lions next game is Friday 1/10/20 at Elwood with a start time of 7:30. They will be competing for 3rd place of the county tournament. Lions are now 5-5 for the season. Come out and support your Liberty Lions!
