Lions Overcomes Anderson Prep Academy In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Even though Lions gave up three runs in the fifth inning, they still defeated Anderson Prep Academy 17-4 on Saturday. The offensive firepower by Anderson Prep Academy was led by Chelsea KlepferShaylynn Swinford, and Joelene Boyer, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Lions fired up the offense in the first inning, when Christine Klepfer‘s wild pitch allowed one run to score for Lions.

Lions put up six runs in the third inning. The offensive firepower by Lions was led by Brianna GreenleeMartina Brown, and Abby Graham, all driving in runs in the frame.

Paige Grant earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for Lions. She went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out five. Maddie Mercer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Klepfer took the loss for Anderson Prep Academy. She went two and a third innings, allowing 12 runs on four hits and striking out two.

BrownGrace DavidsonMady ReesAlayna ThomasGianna Thigpen, and Kaylen Armogumeach collected one hit to lead Lions.

Boyer went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Anderson Prep Academy in hits.
