Lions Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Indianapolis Shortridge

Lions snatched the lead late in the game in a 4-2 victory over Indianapolis Shortridge on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Lions batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for Lions.

Indianapolis Shortridge got things started in the first inning. Jenna Clay grounded out, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Lions tied things up at two when Abby Graham singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Alayna Thomas was credited with the victory for Lions. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out 14 and walking one.

Clay took the loss for Indianapolis Shortridge. She lasted six innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out seven.

Lions racked up seven hits in the game. Graham and Thomas all managed multiple hits for LionsGraham went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lions in hits. Lions didn’t commit a single error in the field. Martina Brown had the most chances in the field with 13.

Ella Garriott led Indianapolis Shortridge with three hits in three at bats.
