Late Score Costs Lions Against Frankton

Lions stayed in it until the end, but Frankton pulled away late in a 12-2 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Frankton batting in the bottom of the fourth when A Coppess doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Frankton, giving up 12 runs.

In the first inning, Lions got their offense started when Martina Brown singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

Lions evened things up at two in the top of the third inning when Brown singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

A Rastetter was credited with the victory for Frankton. She lasted four innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out six and walking zero. Coppess threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Alayna Thomas took the loss for Lions. She surrendered 12 runs on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out one.

Brown led Lions with two hits in three at bats.

Frankton racked up nine hits on the day. Rastetter and E Smith each had multiple hits for Frankton.
