Bats Blistered As Lions Defeats Anderson Prep Academy, 17-6

Scorekeepers were kept busy today during a high-scoring contest between Lions and Anderson Prep Academy where Lions prevailed 17-6.

Anderson Prep Academy got things started in the first inning when an error scored one run for Anderson Prep Academy.

In the bottom of the first inning, Lions tied things up at one when Kaylen Armogum drew a walk, scoring one run.

Lions pulled away for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Mady Rees drew a walk, scoring one run, Martina Brown grounded out, scoring one run, and an error scored two runs for Lions.

Lions scored seven runs in the third inning. BrownAbby GrahamArmogumMaddie MercerGianna Thigpen, and Rileigh Graham all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Anderson Prep Academy scored three runs in the fifth inning. The big inning for Anderson Prep Academy came thanks to by Shaylynn Swinford, a groundout by Riley Scott, and a double by Tammya Davis.

Alayna Thomas was credited with the victory for Lions. She went four innings, allowing three runs on three hits and striking out eight. Mercer threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Christine Klepfer took the loss for Anderson Prep Academy. She allowed six hits and 11 runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out three.

Lions scattered seven hits in the game. Thomas and Thigpen each racked up multiple hits for LionsThomas went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lions in hits.

Anderson Prep Academy tallied five hits on the day. Scott and Davis all managed multiple hits for Anderson Prep Academy. Davis led Anderson Prep Academy with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
