Lions Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Lions watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-1 loss to Anderson Prep Academy on Saturday. Anderson Prep Academy scored on a single by Tristan Williams and a single by Jack Scott in the first inning.

The Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Anderson Prep Academy, giving up eight runs.

Anderson Prep Academy got things moving in the first inning, when Williams singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Anderson Prep Academy scored five runs in the sixth inning. Aidan WilsonIzon McConnell, and Williams each had RBIs in the frame.

Williams led things off on the mound for Anderson Prep Academy. He lasted seven innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out 15.

Tyler Houk started the game for Lions. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out nine and walking zero. Beckham Chappell threw one inning out of the bullpen.

Houk led Lions with one hit in three at bats.

Anderson Prep Academy racked up eight hits in the game. Scott and Williams each collected multiple hits for Anderson Prep Academy. Anderson Prep Academy tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Scott led the way with three.
