Lions Falls To Bethesda Christian After Fourth Inning Score

Tuesday’s game against Bethesda Christian was a heartbreaker for Lions, as they lost the lead late in a 13-5 defeat. In the top of the fourth Barksdale singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run.

The Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Bethesda Christian, giving up 13 runs.

Bethesda Christian took the lead for good with eight runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Joiner tripled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Sayre drew a walk, scoring one run, and Ferguson singled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.

Stevens led things off on the mound for Bethesda Christian. He went three innings, allowing three runs on zero hits and striking out eight.

Beckham Chappell was on the mound for Lions. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and three runs while striking out five and walking zero. Tyler HoukJustin Sheets, and Ethan Graham each contributed in relief for Lions.

Bethesda Christian racked up nine hits on the day. JoinerBarksdale, and Ferguson each racked up multiple hits for Bethesda Christian. Hardesty led Bethesda Christian with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 11 stolen bases.
