Lions Beats Union By Ten Runs

Lions easily dispatched Union 11-1 on Saturday

Union got on the board in the first inning. Champ Ellis doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Lions pulled away for good with five runs in the third inning. In the third Treon Smith singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run, Lions scored on a stolen base during Jared Helm‘s at bat. Then Helm singled , driving in one, and Lions scored on a stolen base during Jordan Armogum‘s at bat. Then Armogum singled.

Beckham Chappell was on the hill for Lions. He allowed three hits and one run over five innings, striking out ten.

Ellis was on the mound for Union. He went five innings, allowing 11 runs on 13 hits and striking out six.

Lions saw the ball well today, racking up 13 hits in the game. ChappellAidan SmithSmithHelm, and Armogum each managed multiple hits for LionsChappell led Lions with three hits in four at bats. Lions tore up the base paths, as six players stole at least two bases. Smith led the way with five. Lions didn’t commit a single error in the field. Tyler Houk had the most chances in the field with ten.
