Early Lead For Muncie Burris Seals Fate For Lions

Lions watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in an 8-0 loss to Muncie Burris on Tuesday. Muncie Burris scored on a double by Lukas Butler in the first inning.

The Lions struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Muncie Burris, giving up eight runs.

Muncie Burris got things started in the first inning. Muncie Burris scored one run when Butler doubled.

Zach Peters led things off on the hill for Muncie Burris. He surrendered zero runs on zero hits over seven innings, striking out 11.

Tyler Houk was on the mound for Lions. He surrendered four runs on five hits over five innings, striking out seven. Justin Sheets threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Muncie Burris totaled eight hits. Andrew CombsRyland Glaser, and Peters each collected multiple hits for Muncie Burris. Muncie Burris stole 12 bases during the game as four players stole more than one. Glaser led the way with three.
