Lions Soccer Has a Successful Weekend

The Liberty Lions soccer team won a pair of games over the weekend, knocking off Wapahani 4-0 at home on Friday and Sheridan 3-1 on the road on Saturday.

Liberty got off to a great start at home Friday with an early goal by Cole Forman assisted by Josh Cabello. Cabello would get his own goal late in the first half from a corner kick by Beckham Chappell. The score would remain 2-0 at the half.

Nick Cho and Spencer Stahl would add a goal each in the second half to seal the victory. Tyler Houk did a great job defending the Lions goal having a clean sheet for the entire game.

On Saturday, Landan McCord took over the scoring duties for the Lions as he recorded a hat-trick scoring the team’s three goals in the game. Tyler Houk once again did a good job in The 6 with six saves and allowing only one goal.

The Lions, now 4-5 (2-1) will host the Indiana Math and Science Academy tomorrow at 5:30.
