Liberty Christian uses the third quarter to seal the deal against Muncie Burris, winning the game 93-51. Cade McCord led the Lions in points with 23 total points, 21 of which came on seven 3-pointers. Out of those seven, which is one short of a school record even though he didn’t play in the fourth, he hit five of them in a row in the closing minutes of the third quarter.
The Owls kept it pretty close in the first quarter, 23-16 and didn’t turn the ball over once during the quarter. At the half, the Lions scored 25 more and pulled away 48-30 and never looked back.
Coach Chappell said “We got things clicking. We were sharing the ball and Cade got a hot hand. All in all it was a great atmosphere for the kids!”
McCord’s hot 3rd quarter helped the Lions increase their lead to 77-35. McCord gave his teammates a lot of the credit saying, “This team is moving the ball so much better than the past. We are starting to become a family. I hit my shots because of them. Let’s keep rolling.”
Let’s keep rolling, indeed!
The Lions are now 6-6 (2-1) and will next play in the 2nd half of a double-header vs Indianapolis Metro at home this Saturday evening.
