Martina Brown drove in five on three hits to lead Lions past Indiana School for the Deaf 14-1 on Saturday. Brown drove in runs on a single in the first, a in the second, a single in the third, and a single in the fourth.
Lions opened up scoring in the first inning. Kaylen Armogum drew a walk, scoring one run.
Lions tallied six runs in the third inning. Maddie Mercer, Paige Grant, Armogum, and Brownpowered the big inning with RBIs.
Alayna Thomas earned the win for Lions. She allowed three hits and one run over four innings, striking out 11 and walking one. Grant threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Anya Pothorski took the loss for Indiana School for the Deaf. She surrendered 14 runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out four.
Brown led Lions with three hits in three at bats. Lions didn’t commit a single error in the field. Brown had 11 chances in the field, the most on the team.
Elizabeth Andersen went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Indiana School for the Deaf in hits.
