Lions Grabs Lead In Fourth Inning To Defeat Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory

Lions took the lead late and defeated Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory 12-2 on Monday. The game was tied at two with Lions batting in the bottom of the fourth when Alayna Thomas grounded out, scoring one run.

Lions secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fifth inning. Abby GrahamMady ReesGrace DavidsonMaddie MercerThomas, and Paige Grant each had RBIs in the big inning.

Lions got on the board in the first inning. Martina Brown singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Lions tallied eight runs in the fifth inning. Lions‘s big inning was driven by singles by GrahamRees, and Brown, doubles by Thomas and Grant, a triple by Mercer, and a fielder’s choice by Davidson.

Thomas earned the win for Lions. She went five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and striking out ten.

Jocelyn Swan took the loss for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory. She went four innings, allowing 11 runs on 11 hits and striking out three.

Lions racked up 13 hits. BrownGrantGraham, and Mercer each had multiple hits for Lions.Brown led Lions with three hits in four at bats.

Sophie Weber went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory in hits.
