Lions Loses Lead Early In Defeat

Lions watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 17-9 loss to Herron on Monday. Herron scored on a single by Evan Sanders in the first inning, a single by Grant Williams in the second inning, a single by AJ Wallace in the second inning, a walk by Cameiron Jackson in the second inning, a single by Johnny Israel in the second inning, a single by Sanders in the second inning, and a single by Williams in the second inning.

Lions collected 12 hits and Herron had 18 in the high-scoring affair.

In the first inning, Herron got their offense started when Sanders singled on a 2-2 count, scoring two runs.

Herron scored ten runs in the second inning. Herron big bats were led by WilliamsWallace,JacksonIsraelSanders, and Williams, all driving in runs in the frame.

Brady Adams got the start for Herron. He went four innings, allowing five runs on nine hits, striking out two and walking one.

Tyler Houk started the game for Lions. He went one and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on seven hits and striking out three. Aidan Smith threw five and a third innings in relief.

Lions racked up 12 hits in the game. Zeph KellumHoukSmith, and Johnny Harrison all had multiple hits for LionsHarrisonSmithHouk, and Kellum each collected two hits to lead Lions.

Herron tallied 18 hits on the day. Eben OakesWilliamsSandersAdamsIsrael, and Wallaceall managed multiple hits for Herron. Oakes led Herron with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with five stolen bases.
