Lions Soccer Drops A Close One To University

Liberty Lions came very close to defeating #2 ranked University Blazers in last nights competition scoring 3-4 in penalties. Lions battled hard for the chance at beating a PAAC conference team.

Cabello scored the first goal with an assist from Cade McCord. Landan McCord scored the next goal making the score 2-3. With little amount of time left in the game, Foreman scored a goal from 40 yards to tie the game 3-3. This took the game into OT. With no goals made in OT the two teams were sent to penalty kicks. Lions scored 2-4 against the Blazers in PK’s. With the result not ending in the Lions favor, the final score of the game was 3-4.

The Lions are now 5-5 for the season and 2-3 for the conference. The Lions play again Saturday 9/21 at Bishop Central at 1 pm against Central Christian. They also play Monday 9/23 against Irvington Prep at home at 5:30 for Liberty Soccer Senior Night. Come out and support your Lions Saturday and the seniors Cade McCord, Landan McCord, and Spencer Stall one last time on the home field on Monday. Go Lions!
